How to hydrate the wood with Coconut Oil?
The first thing we must do to restore a piece of furniture with Coconut Oil is to sand it well. Once the surface is uniform and we have removed the dust, we will start to treat the wood. You will need a cloth or if you prefer, a wide brush to clean the remains.
When the wood is clean and dry we will apply a thin layer of Coconut Oil with a cloth or brush, always in the direction of the betas of the furniture. Once we spread the vegetable oil all over the surface we should let it dry so that it is well impregnated. It is advisable to apply heat with a hairdryer, looking for the pore of wood to expand and the Coconut Oil penetrate better.
When all areas of the furniture are dry (it is advisable to let it dry for at least one full day) we should polish it with a new cloth or cloth that is completely clean and dry. After this application, your furniture will look totally different, much brighter and hydrated but it is possible that if it was in very bad condition you need another layer. In this case, we would repeat the process following the same guidelines. To maintain it, you only have to apply the process every certain time (about a year) and you will see how your wooden furniture maintains a shine and exceptional appearance.
